Casa d'Henrique

The outdoor pool and all the space around it are amazing. The spa felt like paradise, with a heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, and sauna. We could relax and switch off here, and the rooms are super comfortable and cozy. There’s also a kitchen where we could make our meals. Casa d'Henrique is simply stunning, and we’ll definitely return.

The garden is lovely for an evening drink, and the pool’s view really catches your eye. The spa and pool table are nice and well kept, too. It’s a peaceful, secluded spot, with well-equipped rooms that have some kitchen appliances, and a clean, well-maintained bathroom. The sofa bed was a real letdown in such a beautiful place. It’s shabby and held together with hooks and loops, and really isn’t suitable for a child over 10. The owner said he had already told Booking.com about it but couldn’t get it changed. I think he should replace it with something that matches the quality and class of the rest of the building.

I booked this place through Booking in July 2025. Then in September, MyStay, the property manager, contacted me and said I had to pay another €300 or they would cancel my reservation, saying the price on the platform had been wrong. I checked Booking again and the listed price was still the same. I looked for other options after being told my booking might be canceled, but couldn't find anything at that price. The reservation was canceled. I didn't like how they handled it: they posted a price and months later pressured the customer to pay more or lose the booking. I've used Booking for years and this has never happened to me before.

There was no in-person check-in or check-out during my stay, at least, and the instructions came by message. It was all pretty straightforward, though. The house and outdoor area are kept in immaculate condition, the bedrooms are very comfortable, and the kitchenette is well equipped. The jacuzzi, indoor pool, and sauna are available to use and make for a great experience. This is a great option for visiting the Gerês region.
