Milfontes Guest House - Duna Parque Resorts & Hotels

Stay away from Room 9! I understand they may have turned part of a garage into a room to bring in more revenue, but they should have paid more attention to the details of the stay. There was a blind covering the whole glass wall, but not the door, so having the blind and blackout curtains didn't help much. Streetlights came in at night, and in the morning sunlight got in as soon as the sun rose. It faces a national road and should have better soundproofing. The whole outside wall is glass, and the glass door doesn't close properly, so the traffic noise was worse. We found ants in the bathroom, and they made their way into the sleeping area too. Breakfast was included, but we had to go to HS Milfontes Beach Hotel for it, which meant driving about 5 minutes into the centre of VNMF. Apart from those issues, everything else was okay for a guest house.

The room was adequate, and the shared bathroom and common areas were spacious, clean, and well equipped. Room 2 had horribly noisy air conditioning. Maybe the other rooms are different. The place is next to a busy road, so it was impossible to sleep with the window open because of the noise. Rooms facing the pool might be better. Parking was difficult in the evening.

A terrible experience. Check-in was about 6 km away, and breakfast was another 6 km away. The traffic noise was unbearable. The room felt more like a motel room, if you know what I mean, with a mirror on the ceiling and, well, I'll leave it at that.
