The evening was ruined by a room that was nothing like the deluxe suite I booked. It was small and cluttered with storage items, with the toilet and shower separated off in a public hallway. There was no suite, no deluxe room and no privacy. The owner didn't seem to care what we'd booked, so apparently that's a risk you have to take.

Our suite was roomy and nicely decorated, with a TV, though it didn't have a special view and the floor hadn't been cleaned. We were in one of the cheaper voucher categories, which meant no breakfast and no access to the kitchen, just coming and going from the suite. The house is the largest one you see at the top of the small village of Soutelo, and the porch opens onto a wonderful, unobstructed view.

We never booked a night here. We tried to use two Odisseias vouchers we’d been given, but the booking conversation was deeply unprofessional. First came a long lecture about how poorly Odisseias pays its partners. Then we were quoted a strangely high extra charge so the property wouldn’t lose money, even though we were looking at weekdays, and were told the amount still needed confirming. To confirm it, they wanted us to send the voucher PINs so they could see exactly what Odisseias would pay and charge us the difference. That seemed very odd, since we shouldn't have to hand over the PINs in advance, and it also seemed to go against the whole point of the voucher. We decided not to send them or book. A few weeks later, still about three weeks before the dates we'd originally discussed, we got a phone call berating us because the rooms were supposedly reserved and we hadn't sent the PINs. We hadn't made a reservation at all. I understand the owner's frustration with Odisseias. I'm not keen on the voucher concept and don't plan to buy an Odisseias voucher or anything similar. But nobody forced the property to partner with Odisseias. If they don't agree with its rules, the solution seems simple, and would save everyone time.

We arrived at night, so it was only when we woke up that we saw the breathtaking view, it really fills your heart. We brought our German shepherd, and every one of us was treated with such kindness. The heart of the house is D. Olga, a lovely person who clearly knows how to welcome people and enjoys having guests. It feels like a family home, and breakfast was very good. We'd come back ❤🙏
