Faro Boutique Hotel

The front desk woman who greeted me was delightful, but the rest of the stay was deeply disappointing. I stayed here in 2019 and already thought it was due for renovation. Now it looks worn out, with damage throughout. The bedroom and bathroom floors are badly stained and deeply damaged. There's no shelf in the bathroom, and although the towels seem clean, they're so thin they feel like paper towels. At breakfast, every table needed cleaning. I had to ask the woman to clear one for me, and she wasn't happy about it. The breakfast itself wasn't good either. For what you get, it's too expensive and at best a two star place.

We had a lovely stay, and the staff were great. The rooms were clean and adequate, though a little small with limited storage. The easyJet package was well priced, and the hotel was brilliantly located near cafes and restaurants, with the harbour not too far away.

The location was a real plus, close to the centre and stations. They also let us leave our luggage after checkout and pick it up later. There's a window between the sleeping area and bathroom. It seems amusing for the shower, but awkward when using the toilet because of the gaps, and the curtain doesn't cover it fully. The hotel didn't look like the photos, which made it seem modern and spacious. The rooms were small and very dated. The floors were badly damaged, like in an abandoned building, and the walls and furniture were in similar condition. You can't control the temperature in your room, and even with the window open I woke up hot. Breakfast was mostly sweet, with no eggs, and you had to choose a time slot instead of just coming down. In the evening we went to the coffee corner and found that even a basic machine coffee cost extra. If this were a budget hotel, it might have been fine. But three stars? Absolutely not. I'd say it qualifies as a one star hotel. It was a disappointing end to our holiday.

The location was good, and the room was fairly clean. The air conditioning also worked really well and kept things comfortable. The layout, though, wasn't well thought out. There was barely any lighting, just two small lamps near the bed and sofa, and the bathroom had none of its own. A glass wall separated the bathroom and shower from the bed, so there wasn't much privacy. I was on the third floor and took three showers: two were cold, and one was boiling hot.
