Abraj INN Royal Hotel

The room was spacious and comfortable, the area was quiet, and the staff were polite when we needed help. The hotel felt safe and welcoming, with clean, adequately maintained facilities and decent housekeeping. It’s conveniently located, and the stay was satisfactory overall. My main disappointment was the missing kitchen. The booking description said the one-bedroom apartment included one, and that was an important reason I chose it. There was no kitchen when I checked in, which reduced the convenience and value I expected. If Abraj Inn Royal Hotel improves its communication and makes sure descriptions match what guests receive, it could offer a better stay. It’s a decent short-stay option, but set your expectations accordingly.

The apartments are nice and well located near the airport. An Uber to central Doha was inexpensive and took about 15 minutes. But there were no glasses or cutlery in the apartment. Reception said they’d send glasses up when I called, but they never arrived. The room coffee was dreadful, just a 3-in-1 sachet that was too sweet to drink. There’s a fairly decent coffee shop inside, though it’s a smoking cafe and doesn’t serve food. Disappointed overall.

The photos are very misleading, the place looked nothing like what was advertised. It was dirty, there were insects, and the bathroom had no water after the supply suddenly stopped. When I told the staff, they didn’t show any concern. Cleaning wasn’t proper, and the staff were rude and unprofessional, with very poor customer service and no friendly attitude. I don’t recommend this place at all.

We booked a room for late December over six months ahead, and our booking was still valid through Booking.com after the hotel changed its name. Then the hotel said our credit card was invalid and cancelled the reservation, even though we’d confirmed the card was fine. The same card worked without any trouble when we booked another hotel through Booking.com. Extremely poor customer service.
