Royal Mirage Hotel and Apartments

The location is quite good, just outside Msheireb metro station. But the reception staff didn’t act welcoming or positive, and their behavior and interactions with customers felt unprofessional and impolite. They seemed to just sit at their desks. There also wasn’t enough hot water for a bath.

I stayed for around a month or more. The room and location were good, but the reception kept giving me different prices. I’d ask for that day’s rate on WhatsApp and get a higher quote, then see them post a lower price on their status. When I asked why, they laughed or said the post was for a deluxe room, even though the status said standard. I don’t know why this happened, or whether they were taking extra money for themselves. I was a regular customer, but the unfair rates made me look for another hotel.

The apartment was clean, ready for us, and welcoming. It had everything we needed, and housekeeping and room service were generally good. The utensils were a little old but acceptable. What really let the stay down was the staff. They were unfriendly and disengaged, with no eye contact, smiles, or greetings, not even a basic hello. It felt like we had to push just to be acknowledged. That lack of basic hospitality was surprising and unacceptable for a hotel. Customer service matters, and it was very poor here. With more welcoming, better-trained staff, this place could be much better.
