Terminal Inn Al Mansoura

I was a bit put off when I first saw the reviews, but I decided to try it anyway and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a really nice place to stay, with a fully equipped apartment and a great receptionist. The gym and swimming pool are complete too. I liked it a lot.

The trip from the UAE to Qatar was meant to be a pleasant stay, but the staff’s attitude left us disappointed. We asked for an extra hour and a half for late checkout and were told we’d have to pay for a full night. That felt unfair. When we asked security what would happen if we were late, they said our bags might be put outside. That response was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Communication from the staff was poor throughout, and the experience left a bitter taste. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

We’ve been living in the hotel for a month, and the apartment itself is cosy and nicely decorated. Beyond that, we’ve been extremely disappointed with the service, maintenance, and how slowly reception responds. The sewage smell keeps coming back from both the toilet and kitchen, and because the air conditioning and ventilation are central for the whole floor, we can smell whatever the neighbours are cooking. The kitchen had an issue before we moved in. They’ve been promising for a month to fix it, but there’s still been no response. The rooftop pool has never worked and has no water in it. They say it’s under maintenance, but I don’t think it will ever open. The gym is tiny, two people are already too many in there. We’re paying for things we can’t use, and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

A couple of months ago, I booked a room, then cancelled within an hour for a valid reason. It wasn’t a last-minute cancellation, but I never got my money back. I sent the documents and tried to work it out with reservations, yet the woman I dealt with wasn’t helpful or approachable. I also asked to speak with the hotel’s general manager. She said he was too busy to talk to us and promised to come back with a solution, but she never did. With my background in hospitality, I found the way she handled the situation inappropriate and the customer experience terrible.
