The room's size and view were real pluses for our family of two adults and two children. We had two queen beds, and the space was generous. The hotel isn't badly located, but during our visit heavy snow made the walk to the Old Town difficult, and there isn't much right nearby. It wasn't a terrible stay, but several things made it feel below what I'd expect from a 4-star hotel. The biggest problem was the temperature. Even on the lowest setting, the central heating left the room far too hot, with no proper ventilation. Reception said opening the window was the only option. Our room faced a busy street, so that meant noise at night, but we couldn't sleep with the window shut because of the heat. The room and bathroom also felt a bit dated. When we arrived, there were only two sets of towels for the two adults and two children in our booking. The room phone didn't work, so we had to go to reception to ask for more. The receptionist kindly brought them up, but those are details a 4-star place shouldn't miss. There was no housekeeping on our second day either. I stayed at Continental Forum Bucharest for three nights this week. The spacious room and nice view helped, but together these issues fell short of the advertised 4-star standard.

We had a very unpleasant stay and wouldn't recommend this hotel. The mattresses were hard, old, and uncomfortable, which made it even harder to rest. Sleep was already difficult because of constant, very loud elevator noise. We heard it every time someone used the lift, day and night. It only eased slightly from around 3:00 to 7:00 in the morning. Every room near the elevator was affected, and at breakfast we heard several other guests complain about the same thing. The towels in our room were dirty, which is completely unacceptable. After eating breakfast at the hotel, we also had stomach pain, which left us concerned about the food hygiene. Poor sound insulation, cleanliness problems, uncomfortable beds, and questionable food quality made the experience extremely unpleasant.

The location was very good, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the delicious breakfast, and my room was clean and comfortable. I had one suggestion about the parking. Spaces are limited and first come, first served, but during my stay I saw at least three spots unusable because some guests hadn't parked within the lines. I asked the parking attendant to contact the owners, but was told the hotel doesn't keep license plate numbers. Perhaps they could collect them at check-in so staff can reach someone if a car needs to be moved or adjusted. When spots are already limited, they shouldn't become even fewer. After a long drive, you just want to park and rest, not spend more time looking for a space.

This was my second visit in less than a month, and the service has stayed at a high level. Special thanks to the restaurant staff for being pleasant and helpful, and for the delicious dishes. One small request: please provide disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste in the rooms. Kind regards, and good luck with all the best.
