Ramana Garden Hostel

This fully online self-service hotel is a good example of how a faceless company can hide behind powerless remote support. The ID upload went to a generic webpage with no SSL seal or certification, which felt like an open invitation to identity theft. Then the automated check-in failed. I spent 25 minutes on international roaming trying to fix what should have taken two clicks. More than an hour later, I still wasn't in bed. The system had assigned the wrong room, and support refused to reallocate it despite the mistake. The only human contact was an indifferent phone operator who kept sending me back to the same failed online process. The entrance is behind a restaurant in a back alley with bins, grease, and leftover crates. It looks like a fast-food service exit. There was no sign, no order, no care. This is hospitality without a human element, an algorithmic nightmare dressed up as convenience. Avoid it unless you want to pay for sleep and get bureaucracy instead.

The beds are pretty nice, and it's really cheap, so there is potential here. But the check-in is ridiculously bad, with emails not sending, slow customer service, and delays overall. The WiFi and lighting are poor, it smells a bit, and the showers are mediocre at best.

Good value for money, and that's what you pay for. I hadn't even read the reviews, so I didn't expect so many bad ones, especially when this place costs about half as much as other establishments. The place is quite new and connected to the downstairs restaurant serving traditional romanian food, where you can get some help while you're staying here. I stayed four days. The air conditioning in my room worked and had a remote. There's a shared fridge with no issues, and seats for working. It can feel a bit scary sharing the place with other people, but there are lots of passwords and privacy, which is part of the point. Around ~10pm there's some music from the bars. The toilets seemed kind of flooded by other people, and I feel like they're cleaned maybe every two days. A mop for the boarders might help. But don't judge the place by its boarders, that's inappropriate. It's also fairly close to wealthy neighborhoods like calea victoriei and parcul regele mihai 1, and a huge mall that's pretty empty. Finally, if it were an Airbnb scam, Airbnb would've canceled the offer, I guess. It's also easy to report theft or other issues since people are registered with ID cards, depending on how viable bot verification is.

Ramana Hostel was a great find. The rooms were clean, the beds comfy, and the vibe welcoming. The online staff were really friendly and ready to help with local tips. Great location, reliable Wi-Fi, and good value for money. Highly recommend it!
