Siqua Hotel

The room's shower fastener was broken. At breakfast, staff kept shifting people between tables to make room for others. I was told to move in the middle of my meal from a free table once a smaller one became available, and another day they wouldn't let me sit downstairs to work. Breakfast was lousy all week: stale bread, the same cakes, bread, and salad over and over, oily food, and coffee from a machine that didn't seem to have been cleaned in a while. They served it in the lobby instead of opening the restaurant space. The small breakfast area was noisy too, with staff walking around on speakerphone, a news channel on the TV, and lounge music playing over speakers. There was no sense of service at this hotel.

The people working at the hotel made the difference. They were really helpful and friendly, and tried to make our stay as good as possible. We really enjoyed the last four days. The rooms are fine, and the location is really OK.

Right in the middle of the city, so getting around was easy. The room was warm, the beds comfortable, and it was clean. Breakfast was decent too. A pleasant stay.

We ended up booking another hotel. The place looked run-down compared with the photos, and the check-in morning was frustrating. We arrived before 8, which was our mistake after traveling a long way, but nobody was there until the receptionist showed up at 8:15 and spoke rudely to us. We were told to come back around 1. I’d also been told I could pay extra for a parking spot, only to hear on arrival that they don’t reserve spaces for cars and I should find one myself.
