The rooms are large and new, and the mattress and pillow were incredibly comfortable. It’s also in a great spot, and the room was clean. The host was friendly and stayed in touch if I needed anything. If I’m back in Cluj Napoca, I know where I’ll stay.

The central location is excellent, the rooms are spacious, and getting in with a code is convenient. We also asked for an extra hour before checkout, and they kindly agreed. This wasn’t our first stay here, and I’d been happy with the previous one. This visit changed my mind about coming back. We were told they could arrange parking for an extra fee, agreed to it on the phone, and sent the money. When we arrived, all they did was point us to free public spaces on the street. They later said we’d misunderstood, and explained the charge by saying festival prices were twice the usual amount. We ended up paying more for this off-the-record “parking” than Booking.com showed for parking. The owners also accused us of taking a bathroom rug, though there wasn’t one in the apartment to begin with. We’d paid nearly 400 euros for four nights, so being blamed for something that was never there felt deeply disrespectful. I’d suggest photographing the apartment when you check in, just in case. I never thought I’d need to do that, but I’ve learned my lesson. Afterwards, the owner messaged to scold us for supposedly using a towel to wash shoes. We hadn’t. Towels get dirty and need replacing sometimes. It felt petty to bring this up, especially after the extra parking charge and the festival rate increase. If I’d been in their position, I wouldn’t have made an issue of a ruined towel after all that. We’d put it on the bathroom floor after showering so we wouldn’t slip, since there was no bath rug. There’s also a damp, moldy smell in the room that stayed even with the windows open. The bathroom needs a full renovation, and the shower tub is past its useful life and should be replaced. Ground floor rooms are very noisy because of the central location. I’d stayed upstairs before, where it was much quieter, so I’d ask for an upper room if you do book. I liked the rooms, but the owners’ communication was poor and unprofessional this time. I’ll choose hotels from now on, and won’t return or recommend this place.

The host was nice, and the place was almost perfect. It’s spacious, clean, and in the middle of the city, but still quiet and cool in mid-August. It had all the utilities except a microwave. I liked finding coffee and tea, along with everything needed to make them. A few things could be better: the bed creaked whenever I moved, the shower wasn’t very comfortable, and the table felt unstable. The chairs’ upholstery was peeling too. Those are easy enough to overlook, but worth mentioning.

The room had very inappropriate paintings, and I had my five-year-old child with me. The day before we arrived, the owner emailed asking for an extra 25% payment. I called Booking to ask what to do, and they told me not to pay him a cent. I was worried we’d arrive and have nowhere to sleep.

It’s quiet and right in the city center, so you can walk to plenty of places. The rooms are nice and spacious, with a fridge and stove, and there’s free WiFi. There aren’t any parking spaces, though.
