The Loft Gara de Nord

The bedroom was hot because it had no air conditioning. The listing says it does, but the cooling from the living room unit didn’t reach the bedroom. There was no fan either, and the window was small. I contacted my credit card travel agency, but the manager claimed there was bedroom AC and refused to cancel and refund my five-night stay. I’m frustrated that I picked this hotel; it spoiled the start of my holiday in Bucharest. Getting into the property was a nightmare. I arrived in the morning, but the owner told me to wait until 3pm and then hung up. After 3pm I was still outside the gate without entry instructions. Passersby helped me get in, while the WhatsApp directions from the reservation number were confusing and incorrect. I couldn’t tell which door or code went to my room, and spent 30 minutes trying different doors. The manager was rude on the phone and refused to send anyone to help. Early check-in wasn’t allowed because there was no reception. Update: The owner is a pathological LIAR! I wasn’t rude or shouting at his neighbors. They helped me despite the language barrier: one took a selfie with me and called the owner from his phone, and another offered to let me wait at his house. After seeing this review, the owner messaged me on WhatsApp saying I could leave, but still refused to refund the five nights I’d paid for. What a nightmare!
