The place was badly run down and looked nothing like the photos. What really concerned us was that someone managed to unlock the door and come in on our last day, even though we had locked it from inside and were still there. We booked specifically because the listing promised two bathrooms, but there was just one bathroom and a separate toilet. It also advertised a sofa bed that wasn’t there. I felt misled and very disappointed, and think we should get a refund. I wouldn’t book it again.

The address points toward the river, but that isn’t where the entrance is. You have to go around to the other side of the building, down a narrow road. The apartment itself is spacious and has the basic equipment you need. It’s okay, though old and not especially attractive.

The terrace had a great view, and the apartment was modern, tidy, and very nice. We were also well placed for groceries, restaurants, and other shops, all a short walk away. Unirii shopping mall is right nearby, but it was almost entirely closed, so there wasn’t much point visiting. Taxis with Uber or Bolt are cheap in Bucharest. Getting in was confusing. The email described keypad codes and a button on the website, but a guard was there with a regular key. It worked out, and he even arranged a temporary parking spot until our rental car arrived. A few things could use attention: we couldn’t find anywhere to hang laundry despite the modern washing machine, and the American fridge’s ice and cold water dispensers didn’t work and needed a serious cleaning. The big bedroom’s A/C switched from cool to hot air overnight; resetting it fixed it, though I’m not sure whether it was a fault. The water heater also needed adjusting, since the tub was only about 20% full before the water went cold, despite nobody having used hot water for hours. Those were minor issues in an otherwise very nice stay. We’d recommend the place and would stay again if we needed to.

The room wasn’t the one shown on Booking or online, and there were several bugs crawling around. I contacted them on WhatsApp after killing them, and they replied quickly and offered to come clean. They asked if it was okay to enter while we were out. The dead bugs were gone after they cleaned, but then more appeared. I don’t know where they’re coming from, so I’d advise exterminating the room and checking the source. The room was okay, and the customer service was excellent: quick to respond and take action.
