Hotel Arion

The staff were kind and willing to help, and the room had air conditioning, a TV, internet, and a stove. It was dusty, though, even if generally clean, and the furniture felt as old as the hotel itself. The room door wouldn’t lock. Staff told me to shut it as if I were punching someone, but that didn’t work and I still found it open. On my last day there was a cockroach about the size of a cigarette by the front door. The location is far from the city center and beach, closer to the harbor. There’s only one bus line, 2-43, that gets you nearer the tourist sights or beach. The area around the hotel also felt a bit sketchy. People from nearby apartments watched when I arrived and left, and inspected cars pulling into the parking lot. I’d look for another hotel. There are better places for the same price, closer to town.

I stayed here because of my employer, but I wouldn’t recommend the hotel. On the second floor, it sometimes took six days to get fresh towels and sheets, and room cleaning was slow too. The other floors seemed more or less okay. I’ve stayed on different floors, and every shower was different, but none had a rack for shampoo, soap, or anything else. I’d only stay here if I couldn’t find anything else in town.

The hotel is conveniently located within the city, beside a public transport stop, and there’s a nice view of the port. The rooms are bright and clean, and the restaurant staff always greet you with a smile. The management and staff are the real highlight: kind, pleasant, educated people who are always ready to help. Special thanks to Maria.

The room was decent, and overall I had a good experience. The hotel looks good, though it could use a few updates. I wasn’t keen on the air conditioning, which seemed to stop blowing cold air after a short time. That wasn’t ideal in 37°C weather.
