The restaurant and food are the best part, along with the people. It can be hard to find good tourism staff, but they’ve got a great team here: always happy to serve and help with anything. The surroundings are a blessing and well looked after. The accommodation is rustic but designer-arranged, really nice, and I’ll definitely come back.

The venue’s authentic Romanian design, green meadow, little river, and nearby acacia trees made it a perfect setting for our outdoor wedding party in June 2024. We booked the whole place for family and friends coming from Romania and abroad, including the UK, Sweden, Germany, France, and Australia. It was a huge success, and everyone loved it. Irina, the cooks, and the waiters took such good care of us, and the food was delicious. We also used their bicycles to explore nearby villages and historic churches, then did some souvenir shopping in Horezu, which is really close. We’re planning to come back regularly for anniversaries, quiet time, good food, and hikes. Excellent service and venue, a hidden gem!

We came to Hanul Vatra for a weekend with friends and are already looking forward to returning for another dose of energy in nature, maybe when the small forest of Acacia blooms. The outdoor spaces are great too. We enjoyed morning coffee in the sun on comfortable loungers, and walking among the trees beside the river that runs through the property. The rooms had lovely furniture, comfortable beds, and clean, spacious bathrooms. They’re positioned so you can still get a quiet night even when meals are being served in the shared areas or guests are having a late party in the main building. From the moment we arrived, everything felt well made and arranged with care. No shortcuts were taken to create a quiet, comfortable stay. Big thanks for the excellent service as well, with great food and employees ready to help with any request.

The bed was the one downside: it made noise when I turned over and wasn’t especially comfortable. The rest of the stay was very nice. The location is in a great area and has been beautifully restored and enhanced. Our room was clean and warm, decorated traditionally but in a modern way, and the staff were nice. The breakfast was delicious, and the package was good value. Check-in and check-out were very quick. We got a free upgrade, though someone briefly asked us to pay the full price for it. That was quickly sorted out.

We loved our stay ❤️ The garden is neat and spacious, with plenty of room for children to play, plus an indoor playroom. The rooms have a comfortable rustic feel, the bathroom was clean, and the food was excellent.
