Pension Paradox

The food was very good quality, and I chose the fixed menu, which was more than ample. There’s a generous menu, with both a la carte and set menu options, and the price is cheap for what you get. The dining room staff greeted us politely and knew their job. The setting is peaceful, with a lovely, spacious outdoor area, and the clean tables were well served by plenty of staff. The bathrooms were clean and fragrant too. We did have a mix-up when paying, as they charged us for another table’s bill, but they kindly admitted the mistake and gave us a refund. I really recommend this place for its quality, cheap price, and cleanliness.

We went several times and were always served quickly and kindly. The food was tasty and the portions were adequate. There’s a wide choice at reasonable prices, though quite a few dishes are industrially pre-prepared and frozen. That’s not ideal for a restaurant, but it does make serving quick. Other dishes are prepared on the fly. Parking is along the road, so you need a bit of luck to find a free spot.

I can’t really speak about the pension itself, since I stayed at the hotel nearby. We ate here every morning, and I remember the food being really delicious when we came in 2018-2019, I think. We wanted to come back, but the employee didn’t answer the phone :((

This used to be my favorite restaurant, so I’m disappointed and sad to say that on the last two days they served us rotten food, soup and steak. It was the best place to eat in Eforie Sud. Be careful, or better yet, stay away. One rotten bean soup could land you in hospital.
