Hotel City Break

The restaurant is right downstairs, and the rooms have coffee and tea. We found it one of the better places in town for a few nights: clean rooms, a fair price, friendly staff, and parking spaces. We’ll share our thoughts on breakfast after we return.

After a long, tiring drive, we needed somewhere to sleep that would take pets. They allowed ours, which was a big plus. It’s a cozy, nice place. Thanks, you guys are great, and we’ll keep it in mind for future trips.

I’ve stayed here four times in July 2025 alone, mainly because it’s close to family I visit. I won’t be coming back. The three stars are for the friendly receptionist. My earlier review was from two years ago, when someone else managed the place, but it feels like the hotel has gone downhill since then. This isn’t about reception or hospitality. I’m concerned about cleaning, which doesn’t seem to be checked. I’ve stayed in different rooms on every floor, and the bathrooms have had dirt, mould and dust. Beds have sheets but no blankets. The coffee machines and kettles are rusty, with mould and scale, and aren’t cleaned or rinsed. I had to buy my own kettle and bring it with me. The carpets aren’t vacuumed either, and you can feel that walking barefoot. In my current room, the shower has no edge to keep water in, so it runs everywhere. There’s no grouting on the shower wall, which smells of mould and has marks all over it. These standards are very low and disappointing. I hope management reads this and checks on the cleaners.

The rooms were clean and had the equipment I needed. It was all pretty decent, though I did miss having a breakfast option.
