Hotel KRETA

The staff were the highlight for me: really kind and helpful. The room looked nice, the beds and pillows were fine, and I slept well. Breakfast came with the stay, was plentiful and very good. The restaurant food was great too, even though I was told it operates separately. There’s plenty around, and it’s close to the centre. A few things made the stay less comfortable. There’s no elevator in this three-floor hotel, which was fine for me but could be hard for older guests. Orange reception was very poor, and the free WiFi wasn’t good anywhere in the room. The hair dryer was amusing to use, but you have to keep holding it on. The bathtub had spots, and one duvet had a hole. I also missed having a Do Not Disturb sign. I was lying down and trying to sleep when someone knocked loudly and came to change the towels and empty the bin. I don’t blame her for doing her job, but I don’t like people entering during solo stays. I’ve had things go missing in the past after people with bad intentions got in, and since there are no cameras here, I’d be cautious or bring my own sign. Also, you can’t charge restaurant food to the room, so it has to be paid separately. That’s inconvenient for guests who want to use Sodexo or Edenred cards through their room booking. I’d recommend the place for its lovely people, though some policies could use an update.

The host was very friendly, and there’s a pleasant patio out front. Rooms are spacious, clean, and reasonably priced. It’s tucked away in a quiet courtyard, but still close to the railway station. I wouldn’t quite call it four stars, more like three-plus.

The staff were kind and tried to assist us in English. A very nice hotel.

Breakfast was fantastic, and you can also have dinner at the same place. The rooms are comfortable, the location works well, and the staff are very nice.
