The price is good, even when Sinaia is fully booked, and aside from the staff rooms the house and rooms are clean and tidy. There’s a small kitchen guests can use, plus a TV and table football in the lounge. Still, this was only OK for a couple of nights. The location is far from the center and attractions, so you need public transport or a car. Walking back from the center at night was a bad experience: some roads had no lights or sidewalk, you have to use overpasses to cross the national road, and parts of the route pass abandoned factories and derelict land. Getting into and out of the tiny parking lot is difficult, with room for at most three cars and a U-turn onto the busy national road. Some rooms were messy and unkempt because we later learned they were staff rooms being offered for rent. The staff could be a bit rude. The room decor also felt odd and out of step with the mountains. If these issues were fixed, I think the stay would be better.

The greeting was very poor. Nobody welcomed us or showed us around, and the first room wasn’t what we’d booked, so I asked to move. That was allowed, but the cleanliness still wasn’t good. There was no toilet paper, and when I asked for a clean glass, they returned the same filthy one after rinsing it, still wet. The room was very noisy, with traffic and people talking in the corridor easy to hear. The bathroom door was broken and the wardrobe doors had fallen off. It needed a thorough cleaning. The TV remote didn’t work and the picture was fuzzy. Our host didn’t speak any English, so when I asked about moving because of the loud traffic, the man who let us in called a colleague and handed me the phone. The booking mentioned a complimentary drink on arrival, but we never got one. Terrible customer service, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The driveway was so difficult to get in and out of that it felt impossible to do without a crash. The place was horrible. My son developed a skin condition, and the doctor said it was from dirt bacteria. We treated it for several weeks. The staff member was a drunk man. Please don’t book here, especially with children.

We got there at 5 pm and found the house right beside a loud main road. The lobby was filthy and smelled of cigarettes. A disinterested man told us the hotel was full and sent us to the neighbor’s house, where the guy tried to charge 30% more than our booked price. We returned to Casa Ella, but the man there wouldn’t help and sent us off to find somewhere else ourselves. Maybe there was a scam with the neighbor to get a higher price. Absolutely horrible experience, stay away.
