The homemade desserts were a lovely finish. The chocolate had that real homemade taste you don’t find as often these days, and the sweet cheese pie was delicious too. Earlier, we enjoyed the generous servings of traditional Romanian food, especially the flavorful pork cracklings (jumări) and fantastic fresh bread. The pork was prepared well, though it was fattier than I personally like. There’s a horse stable on the estate, and guests can ride around the property, which adds to the countryside feel. In spring, it’s a beautiful place to wander and take in the calm scenery before eating at the restaurant. One thing didn’t quite fit for me: mariachi music played throughout the weekend, which felt out of step with the Romanian food and atmosphere.

We arrived without a reservation and were still welcomed onto the terrace and given a table. The service was quick and convenient, and the soups and small traditional plate we tried were delicious. It’s a well-organized place with a nice rustic restaurant, and there’s a shop outside selling wine and other local goodies. Prices are a little above average, but I thought it was worth it. The less pleasant part is the small country road you have to take to get to the farm. It would be nice if someone invested in upgrading it to decent asphalt, like the main road in Tohani.

The waiter was rude, short with me, and seemed really bored. It felt like they were doing me a favor, so the service was awful. The place looks very Romanian, and the food was actually great. I strongly recommend it. Get the classic polenta, it’s divine.

Popular music played the whole time, and we didn’t hear any other style. The service was a bit slow too. We weren’t in a hurry, but it still took 15 minutes to get the check. The place itself is very nice, but the food was average at best and expensive for what you get. There wasn’t much variety. The ribs were quite tasteless, and the portion was very small for 60 lei. The wine was expensive and the selection poor, which is unacceptable given that you’re literally in one of Romania’s best areas for wine tourism.

The surroundings are lovely for a short hike, and the staff were nice and gave us good advice. The homemade food is good, especially if you’re after typical Romanian dishes. Highly recommended!
