We spent one night here while hiking Via Transilvanica, and it was one of the best places we stayed. Both dinner and breakfast were to die for, all homemade with local, natural ingredients.

The location is hard to beat: it’s only 150 m from Via Transilvanica and a short four-minute walk to the beautiful monastery. We had a wonderful stay while hiking the trail. The place was immaculately clean and quiet, and the food was outstanding, especially breakfast. The host was attentive and quick to respond, and her staff were warm and friendly. One small suggestion: the pillows were very large, deep, and oddly square, so it was hard to find a comfortable position to sleep.

The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, comfortable, and impeccably clean. You’re just steps from the monastery, and they’re excellent Via Transilvanica hosts. Above all, the wonderful hosts bring true Romanian hospitality, with heart and soul, along with fantastic food, drinks, and atmosphere.

Although they don’t have a restaurant, our welcoming host kindly served us dinner when we arrived around 22:00. Breakfast was local and tasted amazing. Everything is homemade and organic.

Everything was neat and tidy, from the rooms and bathrooms to the beautiful terrace. The host was so kind and made sure we had everything we needed, plus more. It was a lovely stay in Vatra Moldoviței, just 10 metres from Moldovita Monastery. I’ll definitely come back during the winter holidays.
