My stay with Mr. Paul was nowhere near pleasant. I booked through Booking, and he charged me an 80 lei “booking fee,” which I believe is illegal. When we were about to settle in, he offered me a shot as an apology and wouldn't accept no. He also appeared in my private room at random without knocking. The doors couldn't be locked, which made that behavior feel even worse. My room was crooked and cold, and the tap water wasn't drinkable. For the price, this was one of the worst places I've stayed during my backpacking trips. The final part of an already awful experience was being shown a pig and two cows kept in non-organic conditions in a concrete shed. I will NOT recommend this place.

We slept really well in a clean, quiet room, and Mr Paul was a very friendly host. There were lots of animals in the yard, including cows and a newborn bull calf, as well as pigs, dogs, and hens. The region is lovely too, with plenty to visit, including wooden churches and museums about local traditions. They're quite unique.

After a motorcycle trip, this was a peaceful place to unwind. It's not luxurious, but the rooms and bathroom were clean, and there was a separate kitchen for making your own meals. The owner is an older gentleman who speaks only his native language, yet his kindness and concern for our comfort came through. He was open and smiling, and on our departure day he came to say goodbye and wished us a peaceful journey, fitting for the religious man he turned out to be. ☺️☺️☺️

Uncle Paul has quite a personality, and he's genuinely kind and endearing. The service was fantastic, and the rooms, bathroom, and beds were spotless. There's parking on-site, all for an unbeatable price.
