Courtyard Marriott Belgrade City Center

I liked the effort to cut down on plastic: there aren't water bottles in the rooms, but there are refill stations in the corridor on every floor. It seemed unusual at first, then I appreciated the idea. The rooms were modern, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were consistently polite and helpful. The location is excellent, right in the center of Belgrade and within walking distance of plenty of attractions and restaurants. A very comfortable stay in a modern-feeling hotel.

The included breakfast was good, and the hotel is very nice and well located. Service was friendly and very good. The shower stall had no door, so it was hard to keep water off the bathroom floor. Also, turning on the bathroom light made its translucent panel light up the bedroom.

Breakfast was a highlight, fresh and authentic, and the room was quiet and very comfortable. The hotel was spotless, with warm, attentive service throughout. Its central spot made it easy to get around, and the free “Violin” transportation from the hotel entrance made reaching anywhere in the city easy too. I felt relaxed and well looked after at Courtyard Belgrade City Center.

I prepaid for a Deluxe room, but a sink that didn't work led to my being moved to a room the staff identified as Standard. They told me some amenities weren't available because of the downgrade, yet I was still charged the full Deluxe rate at checkout. There was no adjustment or apology then or afterward, and no resolution. This was not a miscommunication. Housekeeping and cleanliness were inadequate, and an uncomfortable exchange about an item supposedly missing made things worse. The response since then has been templated, with no concrete action. This stay fell well below basic service and professionalism standards, and I would not recommend the hotel. I'm clarifying the details so future guests can make an informed decision.
