Downtown Belgrade Hostel and Apartments

Such a fantastic hostel. It was spotless and tidy, with a decent toilet, shower, kitchen, and washing machine. There’s a little restaurant downstairs, and the hostel coupons get you 15% off. I’d absolutely recommend it and would stay here next time.

The strangest part was that my room was in a different building several blocks away. They could have told me to meet them there. What if I’d had more bags, or needed a cane? Being met outside the hostel by a man saying I had to follow him down another street felt alarming. I honestly expected to get robbed. I know I can’t expect Paris or London service, but come on, Belgrade, this looks bad. As for the room, you get what you pay for, and it wasn’t much. It was okay, but dirty, as the table in my photo shows. They left just one small roll of toilet paper, and laundry was running in the washer. I had to remind them to come back and collect it.

A quiet spot near downtown with a nice view. The staff were friendly and spoke English. The small apartment was good value, and you can pay in cash in euros or local dinars.

Lovely hospitality, great people, and a good price. You’ll have a lot of fun there and meet fantastic people.
