Shada Suite Hotel - Al Hamra

We could walk to the Cornish promenade, and the sea view from the cozy roof terrace was just like the attached picture. The apartment hotel was clean and very nice, with friendly staff, a 24-hour reception, and no trouble communicating in English.

Our two-bedroom suite was well set up, with its own kitchen, living room, two bathrooms, and even a washing machine. The kitchen had utensils, pots, pans, cutlery, dinnerware, and a full-size fridge. The AC worked well, the water pressure was good, and the clean property was within walking distance of the corniche, restaurants, and groceries. We stayed at Dara Al Hamra in May 2023 after our Umrah trip to Madinah and Mecca, and things worked perfectly until the final day, when the hotel ran out of water. Water was delivered, but their pump still seemed to have a problem and nothing came from the faucets. A receptionist brought us a very big container for drinking, washing ourselves, and wudu, which we appreciated, but it wasn't enough for everything. We couldn't really shower, use the toilet for number two 😂, or wash the dishes from that morning. They were very apologetic. Apart from that water mess, I'd still recommend staying here in Jeddah. It's really good value for the money.

The units are spacious and the service is friendly, with a mix of contemporary and traditional style. But the place is short on facilities and services, and it feels like time for a renovation, especially in rooms with old, smelly furniture. I also wonder why the basement parking is always so dark.

I'm a regular customer, but this time at this branch I didn't get the standard I expected. Housekeeping cleaned the room but didn't top up the shampoo or cleaning supplies, and they didn't leave enough towels. They even took the old face towel without replacing it. I'm used to better treatment from them.
