Al Kaulafaa Almasy Hotel

I had a prepaid Agoda booking for the night of 19-02-2026 at Al Khulfaa Al Masy - Al Khulfaa Al Masy Hotel, confirmed at 159 SAR (Booking ID: [Your Agoda Booking Number] 624650979). At check-in, things were so disorganised that I waited about three hours at reception just to get my keys. Then the front desk management cancelled my reservation without asking, even though it was valid and prepaid. They said there was high demand and would only honor the room if I paid a new rate of 360 SAR, more than double what I had booked. I was effectively forced to pay extra for a room I had already secured. This feels unethical and like a breach of contract, and the whole experience left me extremely dissatisfied.

I keep choosing this hotel when I’m in Makkah because it’s clean, good value, and the service is friendly. The staff as a whole deserve credit, but Alhanouf at reception really stands out. She’s always smiling, energetic, efficient, and easy to work with, so arriving feels welcoming. Having her at the front desk makes a real difference for guests. She’s a true asset, and I highly recommend the hotel.

The room cleaners are nice, but the reception staff get one star from me. It’s not all that bad, just very expensive during Ramadan. They also turn the bedsheets the other way around instead of changing the whole set, which really isn’t good.

At checkout they pointed out stains that were already there when we arrived, then took 30 SAR from the safety deposit. I heard many people had the same problem when checking out. They also charged us more than our booking amount. This was the worst stay I’ve had, and it’ll be my first and last here. I’d tell everyone not to stay.
