Al Kiswah Tower 5 Hotel

The mattress felt a little old, but the rest of the hotel was well maintained. Shops inside the towers are handy, and there are plenty of fast elevators, so we never had to wait long. I stayed with my parents and we were very comfortable. The rooms were clean, ventilation was excellent, and hot and cold water was always available. Haram is around a 10-15 minute walk, and the shuttle makes it easier. I’d book again.

The people staying here were friendly and came from all sorts of nationalities. Even the shop owners nearby were welcoming. The staff were amazing, supportive and cooperative, and the security and services were good. It’s a budget friendly economy hotel with a good crowd and plenty of shuttle buses. The main drawback is relying on the shuttle most of the time, though Haram Gate 79 is still about a 5-8 minute walk, reasonable for the lower price. Everything else was very good.

We’d happily stay at Al Kiswah Hotel again. The rooms were clean and kept up well, and they were cleaned daily, which we appreciated. Staff were kind, friendly and helpful. The shuttle to the Kaaba comes every 10 minutes and is well organised, so getting there was easy. Great value for money.

I don’t feel €100 a night was worth it, even during Ramadan. The location is good, close to what you need, and the walk to Haram is manageable. Service is fine when you ask for things like cleaning or fresh towels. But the room was disappointing: no hairdryer or iron, a badly cleaned toilet, and such a weak stream of water for a warm shower that washing properly was difficult. The windows don’t open, and with little sunlight coming in, I sometimes felt boxed in on the 17th floor. Wi-Fi was uneven too. WhatsApp worked, but video calls didn’t. Staff sometimes knocked and then came straight in without announcing themselves. It happened several times, including at 21:00 when no cleaning was scheduled. After that I always locked the door or put up a “Do Not Disturb” sign. I’d have appreciated more respect for guests’ privacy.
