Askant Al Hafayer

It's great value for money, with shops nearby for food and everyday necessities. Staff were helpful, and the lifts were easy to get. My room was a nice size, with a comfortable bed, and it was kept neat and tidy with all the facilities I'd need. From the hotel, it's about a 7-minute walk to the new extension courtyard and around 10 minutes to Darul Tawhid, just over Jabal Omar.

The view was probably the only good part. The customer service was horrible from the start, with no welcome at all and people looking at you as if you were in the wrong place. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke, and the door nearly hit the sink. There's no cover around the shower to keep water from spreading everywhere, including onto the toilet, and good luck getting hot water or draining the water. For what you get, the price should be much lower. I guess it is what it is.

Hotel Askant Al Hafayer was an ordinary stay for my booking from 2-9March 2026. The best thing is the distance, about 10-15 minutes from haram. There was almost no room service. The room was quite small, the carpets and washroom were dirty, but the mattress was really good. The AC worked well.

We were very satisfied with our stay. The building was weathered, but it was well maintained, and the staff were responsive and well trained. Our room had a properly working aircond and water heater, plus an electric kettle and fridge. Food nearby was affordable, and the in-house shop had fair prices too. Masjidil Haram is fairly near, though this part of Mecca means walking uphill to the mosque and using some stamina. I'd recommend it if you don't have elderly guests or wheelchair users. Thanks for keeping a budget-friendly hotel in Mecca.
