Firdous Al Umrah Hotel

The hotel is on main Ibrahim ul Khalil road and easy to reach from Haram, which is its main advantage. The rooms, though, are full of insects. I complained several times and didn’t get a proper response. Hospitality needs work, and room cleaning should happen daily.

I paid 250 per night during the peak season, from 27 to 30 December 2018, but the hotel is almost 1km from the boundary of Haram. It’s called a 3 star hotel, though it looks like 1 star. The lifts are tiny and very crowded, and the room furniture was in very bad condition. Curtains and carpets were filthy, rooms were small, and the washrooms were poor too. Staff attitude was very bad, including the Bengali bell boy. I wouldn’t recommend it, especially for families with kids.

The hotel is now called Al Olayan Golden Hotel. Rooms are small, and the 5 lifts are small and slow. WiFi is only available in the lobby. The trash service, though, was very good.

Meals were available for an extra charge, and the chef cooked well. The hotel is close to the Masjid Nabawi, about an 8 minute walk, which was its only advantage for us. The rooms are small, the bathroom was in very bad condition, and the sheets were dirty. We had to call room service to have them replaced with washed sheets. We wouldn’t stay there again.
