Jabal Omar Hyatt Regency Makkah

We had a relaxing stay at Hyatt Regency Makkah. The room and corridors were quiet and cozy, and the mattresses were very comfortable. The hotel was clean and hygienic, with an excellent hot shower and plenty of high-quality toiletries. Staff across reception, concierge, airport transfer, and room service were professional and supportive. The location near the Haram also made it easy to get to the food court. Highly recommended.

The location near mosque gate 79 is the one thing I liked. Everything else left me disappointed. The lifts had long waits, and the room was far from clean: there were socks from a previous guest behind the sofa, dirt and hair across the floor, and a stale smell. Service was really poor compared with Hilton. I waited 1.5 hours after calling the concierge, and a request for mineral water took the whole day. Staff seemed unfriendly, and when I asked for the room to be cleaned, they only came at night. The air conditioner was inconsistent, sometimes fine and sometimes very hot. The fridge didn’t get cold, the sink’s hot water didn’t work properly, the prayer mat was dusty, and the flush had problems too. Poor hygiene and condition. I’m really disappointed and don’t know how this service gets a five-star rating. Hilton Hotel Convention Jabal Omar is far better than this troublesome Hyatt Regency. This hotel is overrated and not worth the price.

Our first room was nice, but there was construction noise. It wasn’t the hotel’s fault, and the duty manager understood and moved us to an even better room with a great Haram and Clock Tower view. Room service was very good and quick, about 30 minutes. After a long day out, it was nice to have quality food in the room, since most nearby options are fast food. Check-in and checkout were easy. The location made our Umrah stay so convenient, just steps from the Haram and the Kaaba, so getting to every salah was easy and stress-free. Hotel guests use their own elevators, so we didn’t have the long prayer-time waits you get in other nearby buildings, especially around Fajr and Isha. Comfortable and peaceful. I’d stay again.

The location is superb, and the reception team were warm and welcoming. Check-in and checkout were both smooth and efficient. We had a good stay, and the breakfast spread was amazing. The four-sleeper room is very compact. The toilet area in the bathroom is squashed and inconvenient, though the shower itself is spacious and lovely. They provide dispensers for liquid soap, body wash, lotion, and shampoo. Room service didn’t clean as thoroughly as we expected. They changed the towels and neatened the bed, but that was about it. Parking costs too much, so you’ll need to arrange another option for your car.
