Jawharet Al Majd Hotel

The location is handy: the local mosque, restaurants, and shops are a four-minute walk away, and the Haram is about 15 minutes on foot. The hotel sits on a steep hill, though the climb only takes a few minutes. It's a good budget option, with clean rooms and friendly staff, and I had no major complaints. Check-in was immediate and the welcome was warm. It could use some minor refurbishment: the shower tray was broken, the shower cubicle was missing, and the basin tap was loose, but these small issues didn't cause major problems. Room service was excellent. Mohammad sujon regularly checked whether we needed towels, tissue paper, or other essentials.

My family came for umrah and stayed here, and it was a terrible experience. The room was dirty, and the bed sheets hadn't been cleaned. Unlike the other nearby hotels, this one had no shuttle service. Saud was ignorant and disrespectful. When I called to ask for the room to be cleaned, he said they couldn't provide all the facilities to Pakistani’s and that the room would only be cleaned after three days. Later, while I was on my way to Madina, I called because the bus hadn't arrived. He told me to come down the slope with our luggage near saif al majid, where the bus would come. I said I wasn't in Makkah and my family, including children and women, were alone and couldn't carry everything down. He said no one could help them, they would have to bring the luggage themselves, and the bus would not come near miad al majid hotel, then hung up. He was completely ill-mannered. A very bad stay, and I wouldn't give them even one star. Such a shame.

Mr. Ashraf was so kind and cooperative when we called him repeatedly to clean up after my two kids. The staff are very helpful, and I'd highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was good and had plenty of parking. This time the nearby tunnel was closed, so with the children we had to walk 15-20 minutes in the sun to reach the Haram. Going through the tunnel is usually much quicker and easier.
