Kyona Hotel

The one good thing my parents mentioned was the restaurant food. The hotel and its customer service were barely there, and it needs major improvement. I wouldn't recommend it. My family stayed there for five days before going to Medina, then another five days after returning. On both stays, my parents were given dirty bedsheets, even though previous guests had left. There was no cleanliness, with flies in the room and throughout the hotel. They had no hot water in the taps or showers; the hotel had turned it off at the main supply to save electricity. Cold water in December was very hard for elderly people. After repeated requests, reception turned on hot water for the tap, but not the showers. The toilet seat was broken, and they were given no towels, electric kettle, toilet rolls, or tissues on either visit. Nobody came to clean or empty the bins during their stay. I visited and couldn't feel comfortable in the room even for a few hours.

The markets are right at your feet, and it’s easy to find a pharmacy, food, and other essentials. Haram is within walking distance. Nice room, good WiFi, and polite, helpful staff. All in all, a good experience. Everything was within reach.

The old rooms were in awful condition, and the staff behaved terribly. There were flies under the beds and no cleaning. The worst experience.

They cancelled my booking without warning. I had specifically told them I'd arrive late, around 10 pm, and they said not to worry, my booking was confirmed. But when I got there, they said there was no room for me. I was left looking for another hotel for an hour. They should honor their bookings and their word.
