Olyan Ajyad Hotel

We kept getting stuck waiting for the lifts, sometimes 20 to 40 minutes each time, which was really frustrating. The room service team was a bright spot, though, especially Jobair, who was so helpful and friendly and made our stay more comfortable. The hotel itself was very good overall.

Mosharof was the standout for us at Al Olyan Ajyad Hotel. He was always polite and professional, and whenever our family needed something, he helped with a smile and real sincerity. Mr. Ripon, the current manager, was supportive and cooperative too. The hotel felt clean, calm, and comfortable, and the staff's overall behavior and service were excellent. We had a very pleasant family stay. Highly recommended, with special thanks to Mosharof for his kindness.

The one good thing is that it's a five minute walk to the haram, though getting there isn't an easy ride for wheelchair users. Everything else made our Ramadan stay in room no 808, booked through a tour company from India, a disaster. The dining hall on level M is tiny for the seven tour operators serving guests. People wait for tables, and the AC wasn't working. Lift waits get long around suhoor, iftar, and prayer times. You can hear the neighbors through the walls, and however many people are staying, the hotel gives only one key. The bathrooms smelled bad and were dirty, with drain flies everywhere. Hot water lasted five minutes, then turned to room temperature, and shower water ran onto the floor. The linen was old and worn, and some of the towels were horrible. There's no prayer room. This doesn't deserve a four star rating.

Housekeeping was quick whenever we needed them, and the food was enough to fill us up. There are eateries nearby too if you want more choices. We spent five days in Makkah, and Alhamdulillah, it was excellent. The hotel is close to MasjidilHaram and very popular with travel agents from Malaysia and Indonesia.
