It took me a year to write about this traumatic experience, which happened on September 27th 2024 during my stay at Rawdat Al Bait Hotel in Ajyad, Makkah. Around 9:30 PM local time, I was in my room getting ready to sleep, standing in front of the mirror, when a bell boy opened the door with a key card and came in without knocking or warning. I screamed in fear and shock, and my husband chased after him to ask what had happened. We later learned the front desk hadn't updated the system to show that the room was occupied, which let a staff member enter without authorization. This was a serious breach of our privacy and security. Even after we complained, the hotel wouldn't provide a formal apology in writing or by video, and gave no clear explanation or resolution. Please double secure your room wherever you are, like in the picture I sent below. The double key in my picture didn't work reliably, and was already broken before I entered the room. Please stay safe everywhere. May Allah guide and keep you safe. I wanted to send a picture of the management staff member who had a difficult discussion with me, with their face blurred, but I changed my mind. I'll keep it for myself.

For a low-priced place to stay, it may be a decent budget option, but this definitely isn't a five-star hotel. The information on Google is misleading. This is my account from January 2024. The shuttle service was limited to three buses, which filled up quickly, so we had to wait for another. The Indonesian FB catering wasn't sufficient to be called good. Our quad room wasn't very spacious, though there was just enough room to walk around and put the baggage.

If you're mainly there for a spiritual visit and only need somewhere to sleep, it's fine. But there's no smoking policy, and the people right next to my room smoked heavily, so I was coughing like crazy. The hallways smelled really bad too, and there's no room service.

Everything was good, especially the buses running for all prayer times and the elevators, which worked well. I only wish there'd been Egyptian food. Thanks, Rawdat Al Bait.

I enjoyed staying here. The Indonesian food at Zahra restaurant on floor R1 was delicious and authentic. I love it ❤️
