Elite Hotel Brage - Hotel & Spa

The location was good, close to restaurants and the town center, and about 10 minutes from the local ice rink. The room itself was nice, but for the price it could have been larger and more convenient. Our room wasn’t ready until more than two hours after check-in, so we had to come back later. Breakfast portions were small, mostly scrambled eggs and bread, and the messy serving setup made it hard to find things. Checkout was appalling. We were asked to pay for an extra room we hadn’t used or requested, apparently signed for by mistake. It took about an hour for the hotel to understand and confirm the error. Staff communication at both check-in and checkout was below every criticism. The hotel should review its business strategy and remember that the customer is right. I can’t recommend this HOTEL!

In 25 years of travelling, this was my worst experience. When we checked in, we were given a dirty room left by the previous guests. Staff yelled at our children for playing in the hallway, then told us children weren’t welcome at this hotel. At checkout, they demanded payment for an additional room reservation we had never made. If you have to choose whether to stay here, definitely no, no, no. I hope this review helps someone avoid the problems my family faced.

The room was nice, and we enjoyed the spa, though it was perhaps too full of kids to relax. We should have booked a later, child-free slot. Food choices were limited, mostly burgers, but breakfast was really great, even if the serving area was a bit messy and spread out. Our room wasn’t ready until over an hour after check-in, and no compensation was offered. We could enter the spa earlier, but only by moving our slot, so we didn’t get any extra time. We had a nice stay overall, but won’t be back.

The family room was tip-top, really spacious, and came with a warm handwritten welcome note from the team. Our three-month-old slept perfectly, so it was baby friendly. The reception staff gave us a warm welcome and check-in and checkout were smooth. The location is excellent, conveniently close to Romme Alpine Ski. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of tasty food. Kuddos for the good brewed coffee and fluffy pancakes. Dinner at bishop arms is always as good as usual. Thanks to Glenn at the restaurant for the drink suggestions. I wish we’d had time to try the sauna after skiing, but we didn’t have enough time. It costs 100kr per person.
