They have a wonderful whisky collection, and the service was very good.

Getting an early breakfast was no trouble, so I could get on my way. The room was clean, and the service was great. It’s a lovely bed and breakfast in a beautiful building that I believe was built in 1919. There was a large selection at breakfast, too. I’d happily stay again and highly recommend the place.

The restaurant is a highlight, with a huge ballroom topped by an arched roof decorated with wood carvings and paintings. The menu has plenty to choose from, including fish, game, meat, and children’s dishes. As whisky lovers, we were delighted by the selection tailored to our tastes, and the whisky sommelier gave us a great introduction to it. History comes through in every room as soon as you enter the building. Its location by the lake and river is lovely, and you can walk to Forsbacka and see its beautifully renovated historic iron mining and production site. We loved the whole experience.
