Clarion Hotel The Pier

The room and bed were good, and breakfast was decent. It’s easy to get to the tram for the city center, though groceries are a bit farther away. The hotel itself is very good, but I didn’t like the location and view. If you’re after a spa, this probably isn’t the place: there’s just one sauna, with no jacuzzi or steam room.

The rooms are lovely, with great views, and the bathroom has both a shower and a bathtub. Free coffee in the lobby is available nearly around the clock, which is a nice touch. I also want to thank Theo for doing such a great job. Breakfast is excellent, but getting a seat can be difficult because there aren’t enough places and some guests stay for ages chatting or using their tablets. The breakfast chairs have dirt in the corners, and the lobby could be cleaner too, with used cups and dirt on the floor. Parking is another hassle: the few spaces have to be booked online.

Breakfast was the most varied hotel buffet I’ve ever come across, and the customer service was warm and friendly. The hotel looks modern, with clean, comfortable rooms and bathrooms that are spacious enough. It’s well soundproofed, too. Göteborg is close by, but the hotel sits in a quiet area, so the location worked well for me. I liked everything and would stay again when I’m back in Göteborg.

From check-in to check-out, the whole stay was perfect. The staff were service-minded, and the view from my room was amazing. Best hotel I’ve stayed at. I’ll definitely book it again next time I visit.
