You can watch the ferries going between Helsingborg and Helsingor throughout the day from the waterfront-facing rooms. The location is amazing, and the food is excellent. Breakfast, though, is the same every day.

On paper, the seaside location and fantastic views sound perfect. In practice, the welcome at check-in was confusing, the service lacked attention to detail, and parking options were very limited or unavailable. It made the stay less enjoyable than average.

The sea and sunset views are majestic, and breakfast is good, with a lovely view from the dining area. Helsingborg C Station is only a five-minute walk away. The rooms were the smallest I’ve ever stayed in, though. Since I was only there to sleep, I could manage, but it wasn’t fully satisfying. Despite that, I’d consider coming back.

We booked a Superior King room well in advance for a Valentine’s Day getaway and paid extra for it, but at check-in we were told the hotel had overbooked and we couldn’t have the room. First they offered a small voucher for the inconvenience. When we said that wasn’t acceptable, they offered a free night at another time, which we had to accept because we needed somewhere to sleep. We were told at checkout that the voucher would arrive by email in a couple of days. It’s now been almost a week and nothing has come. We didn’t get the room we paid extra for, or any compensation. Booking here apparently means taking a chance on whether you actually get what you ordered.
