Stf Lonneberga Hostel

We couldn't recommend this hostel. Our basement room smelled awful, like a toilet or sewer, and we didn't want our small children sleeping there. When we called, the manager was rude and aggressive toward my wife, accusing us of trying to get out of the reservation. We were only trying to find somewhere nice for our children to sleep. In the end, we drove with all four children for 3-4 hours to Gothenburg so we could get home. He refused to refund us and charged the full amount. There's not much Astrid Lindgren spirit here, sorry to say. The service was bad, the manager rude, and there are two rooms in that smelly basement. To be fair, the upstairs and kitchen areas looked clean, though run down. Outside looked OK, but there were lots of cigarette butts in jars, which wasn't very nice. The area around Vimmerby is lovely and has plenty of good, friendly places to stay, so I'd make your booking elsewhere.

There's plenty of parking, and the location is close to Bullerby, Vimmerby, and Katthult. We like coming back because it's always friendly and nice here, and it works really well for families.

It's a very worn-down place in the middle of nowhere, though the rooms were OK. The hosts weren't nice, and I can't recommend staying here.
