Lydde Gård turned out to be exactly what I’d hoped for on my first trip back to Sweden in over two decades. I was a missionary here 23 years ago, and returned with my family for the first time a week ago. We only booked it because everything else was taken during a soccer tournament in Gothenburg, and I’m so glad we did. It’s charming, peaceful, and beautiful. I’d come back just to stay there. If you want a quiet, lovely countryside break, Lydde Gård is a must.

The building’s history and the natural surroundings made for such a calming atmosphere, and the staff were ready to help with anything. I only wish I could have stayed more than one night. Solsiden felt like a warm, comfortable home. I’d highly recommend it.

Lydde Gård is wonderfully quiet, so you can get a good night’s sleep, unless other guests happen to be inconsiderate. People like that turn up anywhere, though. The hosts are kind and friendly, and the renovated rooms are comfortable. The atmosphere is a real strength, especially if you’re after somewhere peaceful. If you want a lively place, this probably isn’t it.

Our room was in a separate little house, away from the main building. It was clean, well cared for, and had a small kitchen and dining area. The host gave us a warm welcome, and breakfast was nice, with a homely feel. I can definitely recommend it 😃

The pictures alone don’t quite capture the peace of this place. There’s a great bed, and the preserved dining area feels like a trip back to the 1900s. The hosts welcomed us with open arms, and I’d definitely recommend them.
