That homemade vegan steak at Docksta Baren was so much tastier than any shop-bought one. My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner, and it's often hard to find good vegan food when we eat out. Our generous serving of steak and chips cost 145 SEK. For that, we could also help ourselves to the salad bar and have soup, then finish with coffee and a cake or biscuit. There was even a vegan sweet, which was a lovely surprise. For the quality and amount of food, I think it's a cheap meal. The woman serving us was very kind and checked all the ingredients because my wife has several allergies. The service was excellent.

The homemade vegan steak and chips were great. The steak was made with white beans, vegetables, herbs, and spices. It was helpful to have an ingredient list since I have a few allergies, and the woman at the counter spoke English really well because my Swedish is nonexistent. The price felt like very good value for the main, salad, coffee, and cake. They had the Olympics on TV too. Nice to see two vegan options on the menu!

I didn't stay here, but the place has been around forever. It's a familiar stop for rest, food, and fresh coffee, mainly for truckers hauling the E4. As a well-known roadhouse, it suits anyone travelling north or south through Sweden.

I'm walking the "Höga kusten trail," and this place is pretty much halfway along it. The oven-cooked cod with spinach sauce was amazing, perfectly textured, nicely salted, and with a touch of sweetness in the spinach. The whole place feels very retro, with a wide range of Swedish "husmanskost." At lunch, coffee and a sweet of your choice are included. I especially like that they serve Swedish-brand sodas instead of giving in to Coca-Cola. 5++
