Lindesbergs Stadshotell

Right in the heart of Lindesberg, the hotel makes it easy to get around town, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms were clean, though basic, and the décor and facilities felt dated and could use an update. Breakfast was decent but nothing special. Lindesberg Stadshotell has a lot of charm and history, and it was comfortable enough for a short visit, though there’s room to improve the modern amenities and atmosphere.

The breakfast was delicious, and the staff were kind and accommodating with our three-month-old baby. The hotel sits by a beautiful lake with a path winding 8 km around it, lovely for a walk during the day or at sunset. One thing to plan for: on Saturdays and Sundays reception closes at 15.00. If you’ll arrive later, call for the front door code and directions to your room key.

At €100 a day, this stinky hotel is a poor deal. It seems not to have been renovated in decades, and the standard is very poor. The staff ignored guests, even at reception, and I had to ring the bell several times before anyone came. There’s no air conditioning or ventilation. With the window shut, you can still hear every door closing in the building and every car passing outside. I’d avoid this place.

A good, calm breakfast and a great spot right in the middle of Lindesberg. Pets are allowed in some rooms. The check-in setup was unusual but worked: reception is closed for part of the day, so we called the number on the door for a door code, then found our room keys in an envelope inside.
