There are lots of mosquitos, not much room for tents, and no shops nearby. With lots of children around, you might be woken early. Still, this is a hidden gem: camping is relatively cheap, and there’s a simple restaurant with low-priced food and drinks.

At 350 SEK for a tent pitch, this was the most expensive camping I used in Sweden, and also the dirtiest, with the least friendly staff. It felt like all they wanted was our money, as if the beach location alone should make up for everything. If you want a beach, I’d go elsewhere or camp for free. The shared kitchen is nowhere near enough for all the campers they pack in. It has only two and a half working stations, and it’s filthy and chaotic. Shelves, spaces, and drying racks are piled with a jumble of dishes, some clean and some dirty, so you can’t tell until you pick one up. The kitchen items seem more like things forgotten over the last 10 years than useful equipment. The collection is random and doesn’t even have basics like cutlery or a cutting knife. We had to clean the surfaces before cooking, and the freezer was full and didn’t work properly. The reception was terrible too. This was the only camping place we visited that required a tag on the tent as proof of payment. Maybe they’d trust their customers more if they assigned a fixed number of pitches instead of cramming in as many people as possible. When we arrived, we asked specifically about the showers and were only told where they were. After swimming, we went to shower and found out a card was required. We had to return to reception and pay 30 SEK for a 15-minute card. When we said we would have liked to know that beforehand, the unfriendly receptionist didn’t apologize at all. They just said it’s like that everywhere. It isn’t, and at such a high price, you’d expect showers to be included. In the shower, you have to scan the card every minute, but the water only runs for about 15 seconds at a time, so you keep having to press the button. The showers and toilets were dirty too and need to be cleaned more often.

The kitchen is disgusting, and you only find out after paying that showers cost extra. This was the most expensive and worst camping I went to in Sweden, with maximum prices and minimum service. Go elsewhere to save money and avoid a really bad experience.

Some of the rental houses are quite new, fresh, and fully equipped, with beds for 6-8 people, making them affordable for a big family. The camping area is typically Swedish, with sections for different styles, from tents to caravans. It’s close to the beach, and there’s a nice rauk-field at one end.

Just brilliant. I loved my stay at this simple but sufficient camping area. The beach is wonderful, and the sea floor starts with sand before opening farther out to beautiful wildlife and a painting of colours made by nature. The personnel were always a pleasure to see, even though they had a lot to do, and their office really could have used AC. There’s also a decent pool if you like that, good restaurants a few minutes' walk away, WiFi, and common areas for basic needs. Best of all, it’s serene.
