Unity Malmö - A Studio Hotel

The staff were friendly, and when my old laptop had trouble connecting to the internet, the person at reception tried everything they could to help. I really appreciated that. My room was cozy, and after a few days it started to feel like home. The location is close to the city center. I can't comment on the food since I used my own groceries, but the kitchen in the room worked great for that. Highly recommend for a Malmö stay.

Unity Malmö was quiet, clean and well organized, and the rooms were spacious. The location was convenient, and the prices felt very reasonable for what you get. Most of all, the staff were kind, respectful and professional, which made a real difference. I had a comfortable, pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Malmö.

I was in Malmö for work and stayed at Unity for four weeks. It's one of those newer places that looks good in photos but isn't comfortable in reality. The sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable and very short, even though I'm not tall, and the pillows were cheap. I woke up with back pain most days. They need proper beds. That's not much to ask. There was also a loose bathroom floor tile, even though the place is only a couple of years old. They advertise long-stay studios, but I had just five hangers and two drawers for my things. The rooms have only blackout curtains, so you either lose privacy or keep out the sunlight and have the lights on. This would be easy to fix with 50 kr curtains from IKEA. Cleaning happens once a week, but they leave only two trash bags to use between visits, so you basically have to buy your own. The staff didn't seem very interested or engaged when I asked questions. The location is okay, about a 15-minute walk to Malmö's lively areas, but the hotel itself is in an industrial area where much of the land is empty or under construction. Fine for a week, but definitely not comfortable for a long stay.

The neighborhood is quiet, and the property itself is pleasant. I especially liked the garden terrace, designed as a relaxing little jungle. The room facilities were excellent, and the location, while outside the center, was manageable. The hotel rents bicycles at a reasonable price, around €10 for 24 hours. The room's cleanliness was disappointing for the price. I found a lot of someone else's hair, suggesting the floors weren't vacuumed or cleaned properly. I raised this with the manager, who promised to address it, but some problems remained, which made me feel there wasn't proper supervision. The third-floor hallway also smelled very unpleasant. Reception could use more training. One employee was impolite when I asked about places and transport, and seemed unwilling to help or be patient. Customer-facing work takes effort and empathy. Please take this as constructive feedback, with the hope that housekeeping standards and cleanliness improve.
