Hotell Drott

We had to cancel our trip because the rooms were infested with bed bugs. More than 20 people were there when the problem came to light, and bugs were found in most rooms. The reception was unmanned, and no staff came to help. One room was sealed with tape, which suggests this may be an ongoing problem at the facility. In our room, the mattress was ripped and stained, and under its very worn cover we found a towel covered in blood marks, presumably from guests bitten by the bugs. The room hadn't been cleaned, the small wardrobe was full of dirty towels from previous guests, and the duvets were old and yellow-stained. Breakfast food was stale or still partly frozen when served. The place is filthy. If you care about your health, avoid booking here. I strongly advise people to stay away from this dirty, unsanitary hotel. In my view, it should shut down until the problem is fixed and an official sanitary inspection is done.

The staff were friendly, and the location was handy, just a 9-minute walk from the train station with a supermarket next door. The building is old but renovated. I liked the vintage feel because it reminded me of my grandparents' house, though it's not a fancy place. Our room was a bit cold, so they gave us a heater. There wasn't any shampoo or soap in the bathroom, and the cleanliness wasn't high-standard, but it was okay. There's a pantry room where we could make coffee or tea anytime.

It's a cheap, well-located place to sleep, and the free Wi-Fi is pretty fast. For Sweden, it's quite cheap, so if that's what you're after, go for it, but don't expect anything else. There was an empty beer can under my bed when I checked in, and it was still there after the four days I stayed. That makes it seem like nobody cleaned the room before check-in or during my stay. That's not a standard I'd expect from any hotel.

The breakfast buffet was really good. We arrived before check-in, and the woman at reception was so nice: she took our bags and gave us the key. When we came back that night, everything in the room was great, and our bags had been placed neatly inside.
