Furudals Vandrarhem och Camping

We ended our several-day hike from Siljan lake in Rättvik to Furudal at this beautiful camping site in mid-May. It had only opened a few days earlier, so we were lucky to arrive just then. After several days of trekking, we were glad to take a warm shower. There was also a washing machine, plus a place to sit and eat and hot water for washing dishes. We slept in tents with a great view of the lake, though there are also lovely rooms, an indoor common room and a large kitchen for those who want to stay inside. The owners were extremely friendly and available all the time. May weather can be unpredictable, and we had temperature swings of about 25 °C, but we loved the experience and were happy to spend the last days of our trip at Furudals Vandrarhem und Sjöcamping. Definitely recommended!

I spent a week here in summer 2021 and really enjoyed it. You can go straight from the camping area to the big lake for a swim, take a canoe out, or watch the locals fishing. The village is peaceful, and the people there are really friendly. There's also a wonderful, tasty bakery just around the corner. Highly recommend it!

Last summer's stay really stuck with me. I loved having the lake so close for a swim every day and getting to enjoy the quiet and nature. The new owners are extremely lovely and accommodating, and made the stay feel welcoming.

Katja and Hannes had only recently opened when we stayed in Furudal for a week in summer '21, and it was such a lovely nature escape. The common kitchen and dining room was clean, cozy and a nice place to relax, meet other travellers and cook food from the nearby supermarket. We also got to know people in Furudal and could count on Katja and Hannes for great tips. Even with a week of cold, rainy weather, we were happy to come back to the Vandrarhem each time. And we swam in the directly accessible lake every morning.
