Mountain Lodge

The atmosphere was nice, and the food was decent, though on the pricey side. We waited 45m for an extra bowl of fries, and one of our six desserts never showed up, yet it was charged twice. This review is just about the restaurant.

Loved this place. The staff are all kind and friendly, and breakfast was really good. Definitely try the sauna and spa!

For what we paid, this place was a real rip-off. The food was tasteless and had the nutritional appeal of cardboard. At the spa there was a large sauna for 30 people, a decent lounge for 20, and a small outdoor pool for 15, but just one shower. The room was unbearably hot and dry. We were drinking water every hour and got through 3 liters during a 7h night. We couldn’t turn the radiators off, only open one window, and on the lowest setting they made a noise worse than an aircraft carrier to compensate when the window was open. People outside sang and danced past 2am, and we could smell cigarette smoke all night. When we couldn’t sleep, we tried to reach the front desk or someone who could help lower the heat, but nobody answered and nobody was around. At checkout, the older woman was rather rude when we described the stay. She said we were wrong and that the previous guests in our room hadn’t complained. Next time I ski there, I’ll pitch a tent or stay in a hostel. This place was really, really bad.

The atmosphere was nice and the food was good. The fish was a little dry, and service could be better, which is why I’m not giving it 5 stars. Still, I’d recommend eating here if you’re in the area. This review is only about the restaurant, not the hotel.
