Skistar Lodge Lindvallen

We booked the last room available, but had we known what room 112 was like, we wouldn't have chosen it. The room description does carry a small warning, though the generic photos showing a mountain view give the wrong impression. We understand that prices follow demand. The main problem was the location. The windows look directly onto the entrance walkway, with people coming and going throughout the day and evening, so we kept the curtains shut and had no real use of the windows. Outside, cars, people, and trucks passed almost constantly beside the hotel entrance. Inside, we could hear guests crossing the foyer, doors closing, and chairs moving. Cleaning in the foyer and Lodge Bar began before 6 AM, and the sound came straight through the walls. The noise nearly ruined our holiday, and there was no privacy. We also lost a full day of skiing over our rental delivery. We had booked skis through Skistar for home delivery, but when we asked the hotel front desk that morning, they had no details and sent us to Skistarshop. Staff there simply said the skis had been sent and would arrive at the hotel eventually. They turned up after 5 PM. There may be a process for handing out and delivering skis, but the terms aren't clear. Skistar should at least tell customers that home-delivery skis might not arrive before 4 PM on the arrival or booking date. At Siggilo, the buffet and service were okay, though the bar had run short of drinks after Skistar hosted a large company conference there in the preceding days and it was fully booked. That felt like poor planning. Service was also understaffed, from welcoming people and taking drink orders to clearing up, though the staff did their best and stayed cheerful. The experience didn't match the price, and we left feeling the place was focused on profit over guests. Skistar replied respectfully to our complaint and said they'd consider whether some issues needed action. That doesn't change what our stay was like.
