Säters Stadshotell

The hotel restaurant served very good food, and breakfast had a lovely, delicious spread with plenty to choose from. We found the rooms clean and comfortable, and the staff were super friendly. It was a lovely stay in a quaint old Swedish town, and I recommend staying here.

We had a nice dinner at the restaurant and a very good breakfast, with even a juicer available so we could make fresh orange juice ourselves. Danne and Bella were friendly and helpful hosts, and the staff were just as welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The rooms are quite large, the staff very friendly, and the breakfast is good, though nothing fancy. The restaurant is alright, but there are no vegetarian dishes on the menu. When asked, they can make you a cold veggie burger. The building has an intriguing history, and the pleasant shared areas still show a little of its age. The rooms themselves feel more like a hostel, though. There was no hot water in the morning, several rooms had no curtains even though you can see there used to be some, and the toilets had flimsy seats and didn't flush properly. The soap and toilet paper dispensers were cheap, some desks had no chairs, and the showers flooded the bathroom. WiFi sometimes had no internet access and didn't reach every room. I'm pretty sure I got bed bugs in my room, too. At the current nightly rate, it wasn't very impressive.

The room was a good size and clean when I arrived, and breakfast was ok. But it gets very hot inside, the windows are locked so they won't open fully, and there's no air-conditioning, which is unpleasant. Breakfast ends at 9, so you have to get up rather early for a vacation. They also don't clean the room during your stay. Dead flies have been on the floor since the day before, and there's a dirty towel still lying there.
