Bureå Camping

A lovely place with everything you need and a very friendly host. The northern lights are magic, and it's a Lego wonderland for kids.

We stayed in a tent and found the facilities fine. It's close to town, where there's food and a bar, and good for kids, with things like mini golf and Lego building. There wasn't a fridge when we visited, though I understood one was on the way. The campsite is near the main road, so you hear traffic, but it wasn't too bad.

It's a charming old-school campsite, easy to reach from the freeway. The calm, pretty grounds have woods, a flowing stream, open meadows and lawns, with sculptures and other picturesque things scattered along the footpaths. There's plenty to do, including canoes and stand-up paddle boards. The owner is a big Lego fan and has a museum filled with a huge collection of Lego sculptures. Cabins have a fridge, bunk beds and outlets. Running water, washrooms, a kitchen and dining room are in the neighboring building. Caravan spaces have outlets too, and you can refill water and empty septic tanks.

We stayed one night in a tent while on a road trip, though I'd have liked to stay longer. It's easy to get to, and the grounds are much nicer than many other campsites. There are lots of amazing sculptures around, with LEGO, StarWars and Futurama as recurring themes. Kids have heaps to do, including swimming and other free activities. The facilities also seem to have been renovated fairly recently.
